The Revenge – Heavy Love (Edit)

The Revenge – Heavy Love (Edit)

Picked up the 12″ of this recently and it’s been on constant rotation. This combines all the styles of music that are dear to me Funk, Soul, Boogie, and Disco. The low slung BPM is a bit of a trick as the groove is so deep and heavy that you can’t help but get caught up in it. A classic  and tasteful re-working of a beautiful Marvin Gaye tune. Followers of Friday Funk will know that there is heavy love for both Marvin Gaye and The Revenge. Feel the vibe…

Blue Boy – Remember Me

Blue Boy – Remember Me

Sampling Marlena Shaw’s ‘Woman of the Ghetto’ Blue Boy create an instant classic that has become a favourite of many a music lover. I first heard this on Mushroom Jazz One many years ago and remember not being able to stop dancing or wipe the smile of my face. Still sounds as fresh today as it did back then. Nostalgia is good for the soul…..
